ちょっと前にもらったメイルで、面白かったお話をご紹介。僕は結構、こういう理屈を超えた神秘的な世界を信じるようになった。
++++++++++ This is a stoy about how I found my lost rings - plants taught me where they were! One late afternoon, I read a book called Plant Spirit Medicine (written by Eliot Cowan) on the terrace under the sun. The reason why I pulled the book from my shelf is, you know, our gardening experience was so impressive. The sadness of cutting trees and the pleasure of planning small flowers have stayed in my mind vividly. The book told that plant can invoke timeless and space free imagery, smell and feelings. Although us humans cannot do anything for them – they flourished looong before the birth of our species - they teach us and heal us when we tune into them. I was feeling wind and sunlight. I saw sunflowers and bamboo trees are swinging along with cool breeze. The author introduced an interesting story about himself. One day, he felt his shoulder joints were freezing. He went to many shamans and plant healers. One of them told him he should tune in a plant, and so he did. He received a message from the plant – that he should move to another place from Santa Barbara CA. It was a hard decision to do so, since Santa Barbara was his family and his home for a long time, and they had a special attachment for the place. He could not understand why the plant suggested so, but when he almost decided to move, his shoulder got better by 50%. This phenomena encouraged him to move to Northern California. A couple of weeks after he and his family moved, Santa Barbara was covered by a ferocious fire. Their former house was destroyed and a woman in their neighborhood died. Moreover, his father became terminal ill, but he could attend him and spend a good time with him because he moved the new place. I was so impressed by the power of the plant, well let’s say the importance of co-living with nature. Suddenly, an image of my lost ring bag came into my head. It was inside a porch put on the highest layer in a closet. I saw the bag everyday, but did not touch it, though I had been desperately looking for these rings! I immediately ran up to the closet and rushed to open the blue and white bag! There it was! I found the ring bag!!! I could not believe that I had found what I’d lost since I moved into this house. Each ring has a significant story and I could not live without it. With these rings in my hand, I felt as if I retained my past! How joyful it was. I cleaned each of the ring softly, remembering stories behind the ring. As the rings regain their sparkle, my feelings in my memory came out vividly. Now my past and current life connect and get into the whole, more balanced blend in my internal world. It is such a weird experience – sunflowers and bamboo trees taught me what I was wanting. But one thing is clear - I am convinced the importance of tuning in the plants. I felt a profound sadness when I was cutting trees in our front yard that is not only my sadness but also their feelings.
